I left my full-time job in 2015 and have been traveling around the world ever since.
I give many thanks to investing, credit card rewards, and money hacks for making this possible!

At first, it was just within the United States.
Then, I took advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime when I traveled on a six-month world tour with Up with People in 2016. It was a dream of mine to travel while salsa dancing in shows and learning about different communities. That dream came true when I least expected it and I am forever grateful!
Once you start traveling, it’s hard to stop.
After my six-month tour, I had to find a way to continue my travels. So I became a freelance writer, used my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) experience to provide accounting and consulting services, and started a digital marketing and media firm, CEO Unlimited LLC, that caters to experts and entrepreneurs.
But I knew there had to be a way to earn money without working every second of the day. That’s when I started investing more and taking advantage of dividends. Grab a copy of my book, Dividends are a Queen’s Best Friend, to learn how dividend investing works.
Having side gigs and a business is great but you don’t just want money to help you get by from day-to-day. You also want money to save for retirement and do the things that matter most to you. For me, that was spending time with my family and traveling around the world.
That’s when I did my research and discovered the power of credit card rewards and I really started living my best life around the world.

My First Credit Rewards Card: Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase is well known for having great credit card rewards. So, when I started my businesses, I used a credit card to get access to coaching and training. I also had to purchase another computer and get the right equipment.
Beware: Don’t spend money on a credit card that you don’t have and can’t realistically pay back in a certain time frame.
When I met the minimum spending requirement, I was able to travel to Las Vegas, Atlanta, and New York for free!

After you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account openingoffer details reference* — that’s $750 toward travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.
What I really love about the card is that I avoid foreign transaction fees. Now, that’s a game changer when you are traveling around the world.
In August 2019, I booked a one-way flight to London and had to rely on my credit card until I converted my US Dollars for British Pounds. So glad that I didn’t have to pay foreign transaction fees! #winning
Then, I decided to book another flight to Berlin. Again, the credit card saved the day because I didn’t have Euros when I arrived in the country.
Tip: Make sure you pay your credit card bill in full at the end of the day. Don’t accumulate charges on your credit card!
