How I Got Free Food + Tissue During the Coronavirus Crisis

Technology can be your best friend (if you use it wisely!).

And with the Coronavirus in full effect, it’s important that you learn how to use technology to make, save, and invest your money. After all, you have no idea what will happen to your main source of income tomorrow so you want to do whatever you can to be prepared.

Since 2015 I’ve been obsessed with apps and the ability to use technology to make my life easier and support me if things hit the fan.

Well, that day happened when the coronavirus began to sweep across the United States and travel bans were executed. Major events were shut down and millions of dollars in expected income was immediately wiped away.

So how do you thrive and make sure you have your basic necessities during the Coronavirus crisis? Technology to the rescue!

Thanks to the use of technology I was able to go to various stores and get my basic necessities for FREE. Yes! And you don’t need a degree or specialized talents to make it happen.

Here’s what I did to get free food and tissue during the coronavirus crisis:

Ibotta

I wasn’t a fan of Ibotta when I first downloaded the app but after receiving $20 in my PayPal account, I can’t stop looking at Ibotta to find out what deals they have. Every time I shop for groceries, I check to see if there are any cashback rewards for items that I plan to purchase. There are also free items included in the app! You buy an item and Ibotta will reimburse you for it. Now, I love that!! I’ve been able to get items such as Stacy’s pita chips and plant-based butter for FREE because of the app.

Sign up for Ibotta here and use my referral code “uusyetp” at registration.

ReceiptPal

This is not my favorite app but it gets the job done. ReceiptPal allows you to earn free gift cards just for scanning your receipts. Use my link to download the app and start earning rewards! Some people haven’t been able to download the app but if you’re able to get it, more rewards for you!

Each receipt is typically worth 25 points and you’ll need 4 receipts to fill up one card on the App. Your points will be added to your total once you fill up a card. It’s a slow way to earn points but I wasn’t complaining when I was able to redeem my $10 reward card and get vegan meatballs, green bell pepper, and mushrooms.

Capital One Savor Rewards

I know I’m a bad girl for touching my credit card during a time such as this but I have a master plan. Wait for it.

Last year, I received the Capital One Cash Rewards card and I absolutely love it. I spent $500 in the first three months and got $150 back! I also don’t have to pay interest on my balances for 15 months! You want to check the website to see what offer is available when you apply. Since I was going to spend $500 anyway to cover food, personal hygiene, and transportation costs for the month, it made sense to add the credit card to my portfolio. Also, applying for the credit card did not negatively impact my credit score so it was a win-win situation.

I made purchases with my credit card to get food and personal hygiene products because people were running in the stores and emptying shelves. Well, I paid the credit card bill off without using any of my traditional earned income. I used my $20 Ibotta cash reward + my capital one savor rewards to pay my credit card bill. Guess what? I earned even more rewards for making the purchases with my credit card!

If you have good credit and you are financially responsible, use my buddy link to sign up for the Capital One Savor Rewards Card.

Webull

When you open a Webull brokerage account and make a deposit, you get free shares of stock. Guess what I did? I opened an account! That was a no-brainer move for me.

Webull is a commission-free trading app that allows you to buy and sell stocks and other assets. I opened an account, made a deposit of $3, and claimed my free shares of stocks. I also told my partner to do the same and I received more free shares of stocks when he signed up! After evaluating the quality of the stocks I received, I decided to sell some shares. Guess what happened? Another deposit into my bank accounts for more free food or whatever else I wanted.

Life is good.

New customers who sign up with a WeBull referral link before March 31st will be able to take advantage of the stock bonus. Get a free share valued between $5-$500 when you open a Webull brokerage account. Wait…there’s more. You’ll get an additional free stock valued between $12-$1400 when you deposit any amount. Use my referral code here.

Dosh

So, I’m pretty much addicted to the capability that phone apps provide. It’s pretty amazing to get these rewards and have more time to do what I love – write and speak! Oh yeah, Dividends Are a Queen’s Best Friend is available on Amazon and my second investing book is on the way. Stay tuned!

Now back to these AMAZING apps. Sign up for Dosh, add your credit card, and let the savings begin! You get cashback for online purchases that you make through the app. I just signed up for this app and I can’t wait until I reach my bonus level for this.

Rakuten

Do you like to shop until you drop? Sis, I hope you’re getting rewarded for it! With the Rakuten app, you can get Cash Back for shopping at your favorite stores! Woohoo! Just join Rakuten for free. You’ll also get a $10 Welcome Bonus when you use my invite link to join and spend $25.

Remember all of that cash you’ll be getting back from Ibotta, Capital One Savor Rewards, and Webull? Well, you can use your cash rewards on Rakuten and get more cashback! It’s a system that keeps on giving!
