How I Traveled to 7 Countries in 2019 Using Dividends

Last year I traveled to 7 countries without saving for it.

People kept asking me “How did you do it? What’s your secret?”

Hmmmm….I don’t have a secret. I just use dividends.

If you want my dividends + savings tips, subscribe to Wealthy Women Weekly and learn how to invest in your dream life. You can also join our Free Facebook Wealthy Women Daily Net Worth Challenge.

As a Certified Public Accountant, I learned about dividends early in my career.

If you have no idea how to earn an extra stream of income from dividends, here are some resources for you:

You can think of dividends as the income that companies pay you for investing in them. You can get income every month or quarter. It all depends on the company you invest in.

As long as the company declares dividends, you get a deposit in your account.

How did I start intentionally building a dividend portfolio that allowed me to travel?

Well, they always say that the truth will set us free!

When I started analyzing my expenses, I realized that I give up a lot of money to big corporations.

What the heck were they giving me for my loyalty and for telling the world about their product?

NOTHING.

So I started investing in dividend-paying assets so that I can get a recurring stream of income from companies.

This isn’t something new. People have been doing this for decades.

You can receive dividends in your taxable and tax-free accounts. But don’t be tempted to cash out on all your dividends now so you can live your best life.

One of the best things you can do to increase your dividends is take advantage of the DRIP program.

DRIP stands for Dividend Reinvestment Program. This program allows you to reinvest your cash dividends and receive additional shares of company stock. It’s a great way to increase your returns!

The Birth of the Dividend InvestHER

Since people ask me about this all the time, I decided to create The Dividend InvestHER to help others get access to dividends that will provide another stream of income.

It’s the premium subscription for women who want to earn an extra stream of income as an investor.

Your DIVIDEND QUEENS: The Dividend InvestHer subscription includes:

But if you have no idea how investing works, you need to start with my best-selling book “Dividends Are a Queen’s Best Friend“. It’s girl talk in its finest flavors!

You’ll learn how investing in the stock market can be as easy as shopping at the mall! You’ll also laugh, cry, and be inspired to get over your biggest fears.

Which Countries Did I Travel To?

The Summer of 2019 is one that I will never forget.

I traveled to Toronto, Canada and had an amazing experience staying at Hotel X. I also had a chance to experience CN Towers and enjoy the Great American Food Tour.

After Toronto, I went to Montego Bay, Jamaica for the wedding of one of my close friends. It was amazing!

I wanted more of that travel goodness.

So in August I booked a one-way flight to London and decided which countries I would visit while I was traveling. That was very interesting.

I ended up traveling to these countries:

  • London, United Kingdom
  • Berlin, Germany
  • Luxembourg, Luxembourg
  • St. Julian’s, Malta
  • Barcelona, Spain

Once you start traveling, it’s hard to stop.

So, I found myself in Costa Rica in November 2019 eating the tastiest vegan food I ever laid eyes on.

How Did I Make My Adventure to 7 Countries Happen?

Well, when you’re traveling around the world it’s important to have a good credit card that helps you avoid foreign transaction fees.

I use the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. It’s definitely one of my favorite travel cards in my portfolio of credit.

When you spend a certain amount of money, you get money back that you can use towards travel.

So, you can use the card for some of your expenses, pay off the bill using dividend income, and earn rewards and cash bonuses from using your credit card. The cash just keeps flowing into your account!

You also get travel and purchase protection benefits! Check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred card here.

I also opened a couple of other cards too. And guess what? I received more cash rewards in my account and my credit score leaped over the 800 mark!

Woohoo!

It felt like a dream. But it was just the reality of using the income streams around me in order to freely live my dreams of traveling around the world.
